Water For People Uganda
We believe in a world where
everyone has safe drinking water, forever.
Water For People Uganda began its work in 2008, learning about the population's water and sanitation needs and building relationships with the government, private sector, and local development organizations.
Together with local partners, Water For People now supports water and/or sanitation business initiatives in five districts in Uganda: Kamwenge, Kampala, Kitgum, Pallisa, and Kole.
What is Everyone Forever?
We believe that even one person without clean water and a toilet is unacceptable. That belief drives us every single day. It's at the heart of our Everyone Forever approach: reaching every family, health clinic, and school with lasting water and sanitation access.
Everyone means no one is left behind. Forever means lasting, long-term solutions that keep water flowing for generations. And with climate change intensifying, resilience must be embedded into everything we do.
We call this impact model Everyone Forever.
Menstrual health is a right, not a privilege
Every month, millions of girls across Uganda face challenges in managing their periods with dignity due to inadequate facilities, stigma, and silence.
As we mark Menstrual Hygiene Day, Water For People Uganda highlights the transformative power of inclusive sanitation infrastructure — from girl-friendly toilets to incinerators — and the importance of involving both girls and boys in building a #PeriodFriendlyWorld.
See the Progress
We don't just build water systems; we make sure they keep working. Here's what that's looked like in Uganda, year by year. From new communities gaining clean water for the first time to older systems still running strong, these reports show the real, on-the-ground impact. Take a look and see the people behind the numbers.
